Musk's effort toward transparency is pretty amazing it seems compared to some of the others like Google. His gigs are electric cars and rockets. Google's are robots, AI/skynet, time travel, and perhaps even digitizing/uploading consciousness, no? What are Gates and some of the other eccentrics conjuring up?

" but the landing looks a little suspicious.".....yes it does since he landed metal grid /grill and they don't show the take off either. This a prototype , I guess , and was posted in the last two days. Just give them some time (and few crashes)

They'll improve the model ..... this is why he keeps flying over water ....because is not perfect.

....on the other hand , that old geezer converted an old hand pump into a hover machine , just had to pump very fast. .....pogo stick ?

I still think those videos are fake even the one of them is that company's official video.
Note how those guys acting just before "the take off".. Also the flying the pod looks like it's "glued to rails" - such a stability! I just don't think so.

It's ok to promote a prototype or maybe even just an idea, but i'd guess the flying is faked or cg.

That's just my opinion, as charlie said... Nothing more..

That's pretty darn funny I spent a lot of time as a kid playing with hovercrafts/ACVs, but was always disappointed and ultimately foiled by the skirt on a PVC shop vac version I made.
