What is this?
Since everyone seems to be either deep in research or at a sticking point on other threads, I'd like to talk about the object below. I as yet, have no theories about it whatsoever and I cannot recall it ever being spoken about. In fact, I don't know what to call it and I can't even think of a nickname for it but like everything Ed did, it has a purpose and it seems it took some thought and effort so...
1) Does anyone know it's name
2) With or without a name, an idea about its purpose (both the tourist version and it's real function
3) In case you missed it, I found analemmas drawn in the so called "moon dial" above it on the wall and I compared the shadow when I was there to the big sun dial, they matched so, in short, it's a sundial.
