Just an observation. A sphere prism seems to align with Ed's "Magnetic currents are made by concentrating. then dividing and then shifting the existing North and South Pole individual magnets from one place to another."
Nice! Looks like the Jesus fish. The smoke is not affecting the rainbow; it's just helping you see it. The light you see on the ground is the reverse of what is happening inside the cup. Sunlight is the V coming in the glass and hitting the curved inside wall the tear drop and reversing. Creating a focal point where you see the X. If you follow the red stripe, they come in on the inside and are reversed to the outside after hitting the glass. Glass has almost the same refractive index as water.
Yes, vesica piscis. Glad you noticed the inverted rainbows. Red, yellow, green, blue and blue, green, yellow, red.
I shared with a missionary how 2 Chronicles 7 verses 1 to 3 describes this arrangement. The magnifying glass ignites the offering (fire from the sky), soon the vessel is full of unbreathable opaque gas (priests unable to minister inside). Get low in a house full of smoke. Sometimes I laugh how one experiment turns into noticing odd things in the shadows. I simply wanted to observe the burnt offering cool and condensate. While seeing how much of the cone would be consumed before being extinguished. So the smoke acts like a mirror, interesting.
Anyways it gave me some ideas to experiment with. Like the glass empty with the magnifying glass and see if the shadow cast is any different.

Just thought I should share this here. The smoke filled chalice makes a shadow, but explain that ribbon of rainbow inside the shadow?
