From my understanding this machine was used to construct quicklime
Smaller stones were taken and crushed into a fine dust
The device was constructed using old car parts

    im guessing a rosin press?, pipe bender?, straightener? who ever those 3 mas ons are, they're master of arts me star. the grinding/filing of stone or metal into smaller particles allows it to dissolve

    @dante It was in the workshop in the early 2000's - I thought it was a wire flattener at the time.

    I will take another look, they started tagging everything at Coral Castle, and hopefully have a record of it
  • I thought that may have been a wire straightener / flattener as well...beautiful old pictures, And yes it is displayed in the tool room presently, according to recent videos and pics.
